So I have listed 5 apps that I use that have really helped me with my fitness journey and guess what they are all FREE. If you know anything about me you already know I LOVE FREE SH*T.

Life is too much sometimes you know you got to work, eat healthy, exercise , do self-care , pay bills …I mean the list goes on .

The last thing we want to worry about is if we have enough time, money or equipment to work out, lose weight and really become healthy.

Luckily this guide provides useful information for health and fitness apps that are free, beginner friendly and QUICK, so please read through the post because there is some gooood information below to jumpstart your fitness journey effortlessly.

Disclosure:I just want to let you know that I do receive commission when you purchase products I link in this post. This is of course at no cost to you and all of my recommendations are honest personal opinions only and should be followed at your own risk 🙂

Nike Training App

I absolutely love this app because it eliminates ALL EXCUSES we as humans make to not work out. Hahaha I came up with hundreds of excuses such as : I don’t have time , can’t afford a gym membership , work too much , don’t have equipment to exercise etc. . Any excuse you can think of I guarantee you I have made it, I am one lazy B*tch with good intentions HA.

Any ways the Nike pro app literally has workouts ranging from 15 minutes to 90 minutes giving you full control of your workout. They also have NO EQUIPMENT workouts and a wide variety of workouts for ALL skill levels including yoga, Pilates, strength training and cardio that you can do at home on your floor.

It is an amazing app and it’s almost like a little FREE pocket personal trainer. It has literally been the reason why I have continued my fitness journey because I can always squeeze in 15 minutes of exercise even when I’m at my laziest. Check out the app here and create a free account and actually start your fitness journey.

My Fitness Pal

I’m sure if you are into calorie counting you have heard of this app, it is phenomenal and has over 5 million food options to choose from .My Fitness Pal is a free app that allow you to track all the food you eat and really be aware of your eating habits . Before using this app I was eating like 2500 calories without even realizing.

When you add up the 12 M&Ms you Ate or the 13 canned sodas you’ve had it adds up to be more calories than you are supposed to have within a day, on food that isn’t even FOOD. My fitness pal is really good for self-awareness of what you are eating, it also allows you track the calories, carbs, protein and fat you are consuming so you can really focus on your diet. I love this app because it also will calculate how many calories you need to be eating daily in order to lose 2-3 pounds a week, which is a healthy weight loss plan. I have actually had success using this app when trying to slim down for a wedding and it really is a good app.

The free version gives you all the features you need but the paid version is great as well with more options. I got by using the free version of the app so that is my biggest pro for this app because it definitely does not kill the budget. Check out the app here and create a free account.

Swork it

Sworkit is a super cool app that I personally don’t use but my mother is really excited about. So for that purpose I have included it in this post. It is basically an app that has a huge variety of workouts ranging from 5-60 minutes which is awesome because come on now 5 minute workout? That’s a great start for those starting their fitness journey and trying to lose weight.

There is this misconception that you have to work out hours a day to lose weight, while I’m sure longer workouts are great for you, any workout is great especially when you are just trying to get back in the flow of working out.

The main goal is creating a habit and this app sworkit allows you to do that at any fitness level and with lower intervals of workout time so you dont feel overwhelmed. Check out the Sworkit app here.

Pinterest

Now Pinterest is not classified as a health and fitness app but there are MILLIONS of quality workouts and recipes on Pinterest to explore. Pinterest is a search engine like google or YouTube and you can literally search anything including health and fitness information, workouts and healthy recipes.

Here’s a link to my Healthy Recipes Board for hundreds of cheap healthy recipes and here is my Fitness Board for a load of quick beginner exercises.

YouTube

So I cannot mention Pinterest without mentioning YouTube because they are just such great resources for weight loss in my opinion. YouTube as mentioned earlier is a search engine and you can find some pretty cool information and videos on there.

My favorite Fitness YouTube channel is Blogilates by Casey Ho , her videos are awesome and beginner friendly. Either way there are really good channels dedicated to free workouts and healthy recipes to jumpstart your weight loss and lifestyle change?

Conclusion

To sum it up there are options for really busy people who cannot find hours a day or hundreds of dollars a year to dedicate to exercise and healthy eating. The important point is to start exercising even if its 10 minutes a day because that 10 minutes will turn into 20 minutes and so on. So get on track and check out these resources so you can be one step closer to the healthy lifestyle you desire.
