As much as I would like to roll out of bed at 2pm I know I will end up hating myself in the future for not utilizing my time effectively. Waking up at an earlier hour and having a daily morning routine that I now follow, drastically changed how much I get done in a day , my mood and even how i carry myself as an individual. Here is my detailed morning routine that im sharing with you in hopes that you will be motivated to create a morning routine that works for you , betters your day and helps you to achieve your goals !

Wake Up …….Early !
Well duhh you have to wake up but notice I added “early” . Waking up earlier is the first battle of the day . I honestly have never been a morning person and had a bad habit of sleeping in way too long and not giving myself enough time to even get my day started . My mornings were hectic , I would often forget important items at home , and I would be hungry and irritable because I didnt wake up early enough to even make a poptart .
Sometimes I would even forget to feed my cats …. Talk about unorganized and unprepared! Now I have made a habit to wake up around 8:30am which is not too early but it is early enough for me to have two or more hours to prepare for my day .
Wash your Face
Its something about splashing cold water on my face in the morning that just gets me ready to conquer the day . Every morning after I wake up, I head straight to the bathroom to wash my face. Not only does the water wake me up but I enjoy a fresh clean face in the morning ! Check out my complete Skin Care Routine for details on the products I use to maintain healthy skin.
Now you don’t necessarily have to do yoga but I recommend stretching for at least 10 minutes in the morning . It has amazing benefits for your health and it gets your body ready for the day . I usually do a quick 10-15 minute yoga or deep stretch routine to get my muscles warm and ready to tackle the day.
Currently I have been using exercises on my Nike Training App. It is completely free to join and has great exercises with and
without equipment. They walk you through the exercise and even have a video guide to help you execute the exercise correctly. It is also beginner friendly 🙂
Hydration & Breakfast
There is nothing like a glass of cold water in the morning . After my workout I will get a nice big glass of water with a lemon and prepare my coffee for the day . Yes I am a coffee drinker and I enjoy having a cup every morning .
While my coffee is brewing I will prepare my breakfast for the day . I opt to only make quick and easy meals for breakfast usually oatmeal, yogurt or toast. While im eating I like to have no distractions . I sit and enjoy my breakfast without my phone . This allows me to think and clearly organize my thoughts for the day.
Finalllly relaxation. I love being able to take 45 minutes in the morning to just chilllllll. Sometimes I watch a TV show or YouTube videos or just read and write in my journal. Having this personal time in the morning has changed my mood dramatically .
I promise you will be less stressed and overwhelmed during the day and you will have a clear mind . It’s important to invest time into relaxation and what better time to relax than in the morning !
Plan your Day
Next to waking up this is the most important task in my morning routine. Without a plan there is no order and without order you can not succeed. If you do not have a planning system you are really missing out on personal growth. Every night I create a to do list for the next morning .
Every morning I review my to do list and figure out how all my daily goals are going to fit into my day . You dont need a fancy 90$ planner . Hell I use a cute spiral notebook that I got from Dollar General on clearance . What ever works for you use it , there are even phone apps that can help you organize and plan your day .
Straighten up your Home
I really love coming home to a clean house . So I make an effort every morning to take 10 minutes to just tidy up a bit. Nothing drastic no mops or gloves but I just make my home presentable . Also having a clean home eases anxiety and stress. It is really hard to have a clear mind with a messy environment.
Trust me I have lived and unorganized life and I was always stressed about cleaning and misplaced items . There are too many real problems to stress over .. this is why I try to discipline myself to clean in small increments daily to maintain a stress free and organized household. A clean home is a happy home 😀
Knock out Your To Do List
I usually dont have time to do EVERYTHING on my to do list in the morning but why not knock out two or three tasks . Need to take out the trash ? Wash a few dishes ? Respond to a few emails ? You can do anything and getting little tasks completed EARLY makes it a lot less daunting to finish those tasks when you get off work or later in the day .
Get Ready for the Day !
Ahhh yess the moment of truth . It is no time to get dressed and ready to actually conquer the day . I usually will just take care of my hygeine needs and do my makeup . I love having the time to actually do my makeup to my liking in the morning. Before I started this routine Ifound myself rushing through my makeup and just not being proud of my work hahaha ! Also it feels amazing to walk out the door prepared and looking your best .
I believe having a morning routine is the first step to having a more productive day and a more productive life. We lose so much valuable time “sleeping in” and later in life we complain that were not in the place we want to be. Productivity starts with action and if you are not taking action then it will be hard to get things accomplished .
