Changing my beauty regimen for each season has been the key to the success of my skin. Having a Winter Evening Beauty Regimen has ensured that my skin is hydrated and healthy all winter long.

  • Do you live in a cold area?
  • Is your skin dryer than usual?
  • Do you not have a skin care regimen at all?

Then you have come to the right place. During the winter, due to lack of moisture in the air it is very important that you include hydrating products in your routine. Dry skin is a BIG THING during the winter and can cause flaking, peeling and irritation on your skin and face.

 So, getting your beauty regimen right is an absolute must! Here’s a step by step evening beauty regimen that includes everything you need to know to keep your skin healthy and happy.

Winter Evening Beauty Routine

Remove Your Makeup

The first step in your winter evening beauty regimen is to remove all the make up on your face.

To do this I usually will use Garnier Micellar Water. It’s a cleansing water that works very well to remove everything from dirt to waterproof eyeliner.

Now you can also use makeup removing face wipes or just a plain make up remover. However, I am just in LOVE with my Garnier Micellar Water so I though id mention it 😀

Removing your make up before using a face wash is very important. You want your face wash to do it’s job. It can’t do that if your face is clogged by the makeup and dirt that you’ve had on your face all day.

So, doing a quick pre-cleanse is the best bet to ensure that your face wash can actually penetrate your skin.

Wash Your Face with A Moisturizing Cleanser

Once your face is free of makeup, it is now time to wash your face. During the winter your skin can be very prone to dryness so it’s important that you use a moisturizing cleanser. This will hydrate your skin and keep it from getting dry.

At night I love using the Murad Renewing Cleansing Cream it is very moisturizing and does a very good job at cleansing and repairing damage done to your skin.

Not only that but it doesn’t have harsh chemicals that strip your skin. Murad also carries moisturizing cleansers for all skin types.

Any face wash for this step will do. However, it is very important that it is not a harsh face wash that strips your skin of moisture.

Exfoliate Your Skin

Exfoliating your skin is when you use an abrasive product to remove dead skin cells and dirt from your face. Over the days, your skin will build up dirt and debris and it’s up to an exfoliants to remove that dirt and debris.

After you exfoliate your skin it will be smooth and more youthful. You can exfoliate your skin by using either a face brush or a face scrub.

The face brush I always stick by is the Clarisonic Face Brush because it is a gentle exfoliator and can actually be used daily.

How To Use A Face Brush

  1. Remember these can be used daily
  2. Wet your face and your face brush
  3. Apply the cleanser of your choice to your face brush
  4. Turn the face brush on and rub in circular motions for about 1 minute
  5. Rinse your face
  6. All Done!  Baby smooth skin here we come 😀

The Clarisonic Brush has literally changed my complexion and has allowed my skin to become smoother, and healthier.

Now the Clarisonic brush can be a little pricey so if that is out of your price range I understand. That does not take you out of the game though girl !  

You can get a cheaper face brush like Shesiedo Cleansing Massage Brush OR you can opt for a face scrub.

As mentioned in many of my posts my favorite face scrub at this time is Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant. This product is effective but a little pricy. However, St. Ives Apricot Scrub works very well and banks in at only about three dollars a bottle.

How To Use A Face Scrub

  1. Face scrubs should ONLY be used 2-3 times WEEKLY !!
  2. Remove Makeup and all dirt
  3. Replace regular cleanser with a face scrub of your choice
  4. Rub face scrub LIGHTLY in a circular motion for 1 minute
  5. Rinse and BABY SMOOTH SKIN !

Either way including an exfoliate your in your winter evening beauty regimen will definitely change your skin for the better. Whether you use a face scrub or a face brush you will definitely notice a difference in your skin and be proud of adding it to your routine.

Use a Toner

After washing your face you’re going to want to use a face toner. What a face toner does, is it balances the pH in your skin and removes additional dirt. It provides an additional layer of moisture for your skin which is much needed in the dry winter.

Now during the winter, I do not use a toner in the morning. However, at night I do like to include a toner to get added benefits. My favorite face toner at this time is Thayers Witch Hazel.

Witch hazel is really good for your skin it does a good job at healing scars, reducing dark spots and just really making sure that your face is clean. It also is really good for acne and healing any cuts that you may have on your face.

If you do not have a face toner I definitely recommend including one into your beauty regimen just to have that extra push to make your skin the best it can be.

Use a Skin Serum

If you’ve been following my website for quite some time you know that I literally mention skin serum in every single skin care related post I have. The reason I mention this so much, is because serums are incredibly powerful at repairing skin.

After you use the toner, apply a few drops of the skin serum of your choice to your face. Rub in, and allow the serum to sit for 15 minutes before moisturizing.

There are so many different kinds of skin serums that can be very be beneficial to your skin. A face serum basically provides a concentrated product that can be used to repair whatever skinissue you’re having.

If you’re having difficulty with dark spots that products might be vitamin C if you’re having difficulty with aging that product might be collagen. Either way finding a serum that works for whatever skin problem you’re having is definitely important.


The skin serum I have been using since I received it in early November is the Purlisse Brightening Skin Serum. The reason I use a brightening skin serum is because I have a dark spot and I want my skin to look brighter and radiant. So I opted for a brightening serum.

Now Serums can be pretty pricey but one serum that I’ve noticed works very well at a decent price is Hyaluronic Acid. It is perfect for the winter because it is very hydrating and it’s actually an acid that is produced by your skin naturally.

It works really well for dry skin and aging skin while helps your skin just look more youthful and moisturized. Finding the perfect skin serum for your skin can prove to be a journey. However, including a skin serum in your beauty regimen is absolutely a must.

Here Are Some Other Awesome Serums I Have Tried and LOVED and Their Uses:

THE INKEY LIST Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Serum $8 – good for hydrating dry skin.

THE ORDINARY Resveratrol 3% + Ferulic Acid 3% $10– antioxidant used for dark spots (very potent don’t use too much)

FRESH Vitamin Nectar Glow Juice Antioxidant Face Serum $28 – good for brightening your skin.

MURAD Retinol Youth Renewal Serum $25 – for removing fine lines and dull skin.

Use a Night Cream for Intense Moisture

Once you’ve used your skin serum and allowed it to sit on your face for at least 15 minutes. It is now time to seal the deal with some good moisture. Moisturizing your face at night is very important ! It allows your skin to rebuild and regenerate overnight.

For this reason, I do recommend using a night cream rather than a regular skin moisturizer. A night cream has penetrating products and is much thicker than a regular face moisturizer. They also work well to infuse moisture and repair dry skin as well.

The night cream I have been loving is the Rose Deep Hydration Moisturizer. It is very thick very creamy and when I wake up after applying the face cream on my skin literally feels like a babies ass.

Importantly, this smooth sensation will last all day until I am ready to wash my face again at night. Definitely opt for a night cream over a face moisturizer, to really get the deep moisturizing you need during the cold and dry winter.

Using A Face Mask 2-3 Times a Week

Following , a face cleanser a face mask should be used. Apply the face mask as the directions state and then rinse and proceed with your routine.

Using a face mask is not something that needs to be done every single day. It is definitely a huge part of your beauty regimen but, should only be done 2 to 3 times a week.

Face masks are awesome, because they provide different benefits and are able to sit on your skin in a concentrated form to really improve your skin. I really started noticing my skin change when I started incorporating a face mask into my weekly routine.

Additionally, face masks, like skin serums have multiple different products that can benefit you in different ways. So, what I recommend is trying to figure out exactly what you’re wanting to fix with your skin. Then, using a face mask according to that particular skin issue.

During the winter I LOVE a good hydrating face mask. Furthermore, a new one i have been using is the Orgins Hello, Calm Relaxing & Hydrating Face Mask with Cannabis Sativa Seed Oil. It is very moisturizing literally, one of the best face masks I have purchased.

Hopefully, you’re able to find one that fits your skin care needs. Remember again this is not something you want to do daily however 2 to 3 times a week is ideal
